OBITUARY - BENEDICT J. THOMPSON

Benedict J. THOMPSON was born in Lebanon, Kentucky on February 29, 1836, and departed this life at his home on April 10, 1926, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 10 days.

He was united in marriage to Adaline GRINDSTAFF June 14, 1869. There was born to this union eleven children, two of them having died in infancy. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Adaline THOMPSON, five daughters, Mrs. P. F. FULK and Mrs. Arthur WELLS of Redding [IA]; Mrs. Callie LONG of Independence, Mo.; Mrs. Walter WILSON of Allendale [MO]; Mrs. Wayne KING of Lamoni [IA]; four sons, Teck, Alex and Book THOMPSON, of Allendale [MO]; Melvin, of Redding [IA]; forty-four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He united with the Catholic church in early childhood. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. W. DEWITT. Interment in the Kirk cemetery [Allendale, MO].
