Janice (HYDE) THOMASON, born to Godly parents on July 27, 1932 left this earth on July 6, 2008. She left behind a family who loved her ever so much as well as friends.

She was born in Kellerton, IA to Charles Leveritt and Nola Ann (PARK) HYDE and was reared by her father and stepmother, Mabel CARLILE. Jan graduated high school in Lamoni, IA in 1950 and began nurses training at the Independence Sanitarium School of Nursing in Independence, MO. She later received her BSN in New Jersey and her MSN at Arizona State University. Jan had worked as a Registered Nurse for several hospitals throughout her long and distinguished career where she received several awards including; the International Youth Service Award at the 1994 Community of Christ World Conference, seven years of Service Award from Administration of the ARC Cares Program for 1996-2003 and the 15 years of Outstanding Service Award from the State of Arizona in 1994. Most of all she loved her church work. Jan was an avid member of the Oak Grove Community Church where she was an elder, associate pastor, choir director, Sunday school teacher, missionary team leader, Vacation Bible School teacher and volunteer chaplain and guide for the Community of Christ Auditorium and Temple. She also delivered Meals On Wheels. Jan first married Myron M. THOMASON in 1953 and had two daughters together before divorcing in 1980. She then married Glen PIEPERGERDES in 1983 and then they were later divorced.

She is survived by her two daughters, Liz SCULLY, her husband Bruce and their children Aaron SCULLY and his wife Samantha, and Ashlea SCULLY and Val THOMASON and her children, Brandon FISCUS and Brianna FISCUS; two sisters, Mabel CURRY and husband Myron and family and Betty Ann McDONNELL and family; a step daughter and son Nola and Joe PIEPERGERDES and Philippino daughter, Fanda ORTEGA and her family Nelson and daughters, Michelle and Denise.

Jan was a wonderful very spiritual woman who loved well, laughed well and lived well. She will be sorely missed.
