OBITUARY - GEORGE STILL

George STILL, 85, of Mount Ayr died April 21, 2004, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Charles WEIMAN and the Rev. Pat WILLIAMSON will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in his name.

Mr. STILL, son of Mary (PARKER) and Leonard STILL, was born Nov. 13, 1918, in Decatur County. On September 25, 1943, he married Ethel KNIGHT in Creston. He was a farmer and a member of the Free Methodist Church in Mount Ayr.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel STILL of Mount Ayr; a son, Merrill (wife Betty) STILL of Kellerton; three brothers, Lee (wife Genevieve) STILL of Conesville and Eldon (wife Jan) STILL and Ed STILL, all of Mount Ayr; three sisters, Ethel DOOLITTLE of Kellerton and Leucena KOBBE and Joyce (husband Jim) JOHNSON, all of Mount Ayr; a sister-in-law, Vesta STILL of Mount Ayr; four grandchildren, Lisa (husband Bob) SAXTON, Teresa (husband James) HUFFMAN, Townya (husband Keith Jr.) LYNCH and Adam STILL; and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Aaron SAXTON, Mackinzie, Levi, KC and Noah HUFFMAN and Brenden and Brylee LYNCH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, George LaVerne STILL; two brothers, Guy and Ray STILL; a sister, Emma MURPHY; and parents-in-law Verne and Florence KNIGHT.
