OBITUARY - MISS ELIZABETH STEVENSON.

Miss Elizabeth STEVENSON was taken ill of acute peritonitis Friday, April 20, and passed away at the Greater Community hospital, Creston, Iowa, Monday, April 23, 1928. The deceased was well known in Tingley, having made her home here for more than twenty years. Since her mother's death in 1908 she has lived alone at her home here.

She early united with the United Presbyterian church of Eugene, Iowa, later transferring her membership to Tingley when the present church was established, under the pastorate of Rev. J. P. GIBSON. Although afflicted with deafness she was nevertheless quite faithful in her attendance at church. She could hear some of the praise service and it meant a great deal to her. She loved the place itself, and to meet her fellow members. Her cheerful presence and her smile did others good. It did not seem that the Death Angel could have been so near as to claim her so suddenly. The sorrowing relatives and friends find comfort in the realization that "she is not dead but gone before."

The daughter of Andrew and Mary C. STEVENSON, she leaves the following brother and sisters: B. J. STEVENSON, Garden City, Kan.; Mrs. C. R. SHEPHERD, Harrisonville, Mo.; Mrs. M. A. ROBINSON, Ft. Scott, Kan., and Mrs. Margaret LORIMOR, Mount Ayr, Iowa. Two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by her pastor, Rev. C. G. McKNIGHT, and interment in the Tingley cemetery.
