The following month they moved to Iowa, settling on a farm near Beaconsfield, where they resided until the next spring, when they moved to their present home near Kellerton.

To this union were born four daughters and one son: Pauline Mae, aged 21 years, a teacher in Ringgold county; Lola Sophronia, aged 19 years, a teacher in Mount Ayr; Vesta Vivian, aged 17 years, taking normal training work at Mount Ayr; Maxine Grace, age 15 years and Wilfred Eckley, aged 12 years, both of whom are attending Kellerton high school.

He particularly enjoyed filling his place in the choir in which work he was especially talented. His temperate life was an example to others and his industrious habits for those depending upon him were untiring.

His health began to fail during the spring of 1923. In the following September he had an operation for malignant tumer; this was thought to be successful but the next summer he became worse and failed rapidly until his death.

Also other relatives and a host of friends who whoed their sympathy by lending a helping hand during the long illness.

Funeral services were conducted by C. E. BENNETT Friday, March 6th, at 10:30 o'clock at the M. E. church at this place and interment made in Maple Row cemetery [Kellerton].
