OBITUARY - ARLENE (LAIRD) STANLEY

Arlene STANLEY, 92, of Mount Ayr died June 9, 2005, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Services were 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. David MILLER officiated. Burial was in the Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton. A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. STANLEY, daughter of Fred Emery and Bertha (VANCE) LAIRD, was born March 3, 1913, in Kellerton. On January 2, 1934, she married James Oral STANLEY in Creston. She was employed as a cook at Mount Ayr Health Care Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Ilene (husband Charles) TULL of Mount Ayr; one sister, Pauline (husband Albert) MACAULEY of Marshalltown; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle and Raymond LAIRD; and a sister, Rosalee BREWER.
