OBITUARY - THOMAS STAMPER

Thomas STAMPER, son of Mary Ann (TURVEY) and Thomas STAMPER, was born in Plattsville, Ill, May 23, 1874, and died at the Mtount Ayr Nursing Home, September 10, 1949, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 17 days.

When a small child, he moved with his parents to Ringgold County, Iowa, where they settled on a farm south of Clearfield. This was his home for about 50 years. In his later life he made his home in Diagonal until failing health caused him to enter the Nursing home about three years ago.

Mr. STAMPER was a kind, thoughtful, considerate son and brother, and a loyal friend. Not only did he help to care for his mother and for his sister inher last illness, but he always manifested the same spirit of helpfulness toward his brother, neighbors, and friends.

He united with the Grant Center Methodist church in 1912, under the pastorate of the Rev. C. M. EDMONDSON.

Mr. STAMPER was of a family of 8 children, all of whom have preceded him in death except one brother, Edward T. STAMPER of Diagonal. Besides this brother, he leaves to mourn his departure a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

NOTE: Interment was at Clearfield Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.
