OBITUARY - JOHN E. SPENCE

John E. SPENCE, 90, of Bradenton, Fla., died June 7, 2004.

He was born October 8, 1913, Diagonal, Iowa. He was an original founder of Corn States Hybrid Service, a successful hybrid seed corn business in Des Moines, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen (TILTON) SPENCE; a daughter, Julie LEMAN, of Boulder, Colorado; a son, John SPENCE Jr. of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Iowa. Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
