W. SPEELMAN of SHANNON CITY DIES

SHANNON CITY -- Weldon SPEELMAN, 83, of rural Shannon City, died at the Ringgold County hospital at Mount Ayr at 3 p.m. Sunday [May 7, 1972] after he had suffered a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday [May 10, 1972] at the United Presbyterian church at Tingley. Rev. Merlin J. WILKINS of the Christian church will officiate. Burial will be in the Tingley cemetery. His body is at the Varner funeral home at Tingley.

Mr. SPEELMAN is survived by his widow, Pearl; two brothers, Adley SPEELMAN and Kearney SPEELMAN, both of Creston; and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret RUNDLETT of Creston and Mrs. Clyde JOHNSTON of rural Ellston.

Mr. SPEELMAN was a veteran of military service in World War I and was a member of the Tingley American Legion post.
