MRS. VERA MORLAN BURCHARD FUNERAL to be THURSDAY

Funeral services will be held in the Hennessey-VanCleave and Hurley funeral home in Missouri Valley at 10:30 a.m., Thursday for Mrs. Vera Mildred MORLAN BURCHARD, 88, of Logan, who died Tuesday at Community Memorial hospital.

The Rev. Albert DELBRIDGE will officiate. Organ music will be played by Mrs. E. E. GOCHENOUR.

Burial will be in Little Sioux cemetery. Casket bearers: Ted McCRACKEN, Merrill SMITH, Dale ALTON, Everett PETTY, Doyle CONYERS and Chester HILTON.

Mrs. BUCHARD was born January 29, 1881 in Mount Ayr, Ia., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac [Sarah Samantha (CAMPBELL)] WATSON.

She was married to Bert [Albert Leroy] MORLAN in 1990 and they made their home in Logan. Mr. MORLAN died in 1931.

The deceased moved to California in 1944 & for many years she managed apartment hotels there. In 1946 she married Howard T. BUCHARD. Mr. BUCHARD died in 1957.

She continued to make her home in California until her health failed three years ago and she returned to Logan [IA]. Survives: sons, Dale MORLAN of Little Sioux and Francis Dean MORLAN of Los Anges, Cal.; one niece, Mrs. Ruth BAYLOR, of Northfield, Ill.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
