OBITUARY - DANIEL I. MORSE.

Daniel I. MORSE, fourth child of Merritt A. and Alida MORSE, was born February 19, 1847, in New York state, and died at Mount Ayr, Iowa, March 1, 1923. When two years of age his parents moved to Illinois, locating in Lee county, where the subject of this sketch grew to manhood. On February 26, 1871, he wsa married to Louisa M. BABBITT, to which union one child was born, George F. MORSE, of Mount Ayr, Iowa. In early manhood he confessed his faith in the Savor and united with the M. E. church at Paw Paw, Ill. Later in life he confirmed his vows at the Lotts Grove church. Louisa M. MORSE, his wife, preceded him in death almost eleven years. There remains of his immediate family, three brothers, Wesley W. MORSE, of Clearfield, Iowa; John MORSE, of Sterling, Kansas; Charles O. MORSE, of North Dakota; and two sisters, Martha A. PRENTICE, of Paw Paw, Ill., and Helen M. GOLDING, of Grant City, Mo. In the home where he resided since his wife's death there are George MORSE and wife, and three grandchildren, Mary A., Geo. Hoytt, Merritt M., while one granddaughter, Dessa L., is in Bringhamton, New York. Beside these there are a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Lotts Grove church, conducted by Rev. T. S. RHOADES, and interment was made in the Lotts Grove cemetery.
