OBITUARY - LIZZIE C. McCONNELL

[Nancy Elizabeth] Lizzie C[ook] WHITE was born at Chillicothe, Mo., July 28th 1850 and passed away from this life April 17th, 1926 at the age of 75 years, 8 months, and 13 days.

She was united in marriage with William McCONNELL, August 27th, 1867 at Chillicothe, [Livingston County] Mo., and to this union was born ten children, and of these three preceeded her in the great beyound, as did her husband also, who died in 1907 at Independence, Mo.

In 1882, Mrs. McCONNELL united with the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, and always remained true to the faith of her church. She was always kind and loving and those who knew her best loved her most and was always known to be a good wife, a kind and loving mother and a kindly neighbor. She with her husband and family came to Nebraska about twenty-five years ago.

She leaves to mourn her departure, a large circle of devoted friends. Besides her three daughters, Mrs. Lou HAVELY, of Slater, Wyoming. Mrs. Della RICHARDSON of Lingle, Wyoming and Mrs. Ellice CONANT of Benecdict, Nebr.; four sons, Don and Fred McCONNELL of Lingle Wyoming, Bird and Harl of Mt. Ayr, Iowa; two brothers, one at Independence, Mo. [William and his wife Bertha] and one at Lamoni, Iowa; two sisters at Berkeley, California; forty-two grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, besides a large number of other relatives.

Mrs. McCONNELL's last illness had confined her to her bed for almost two weeks and the greater part of that time she was in intense sufferer, but she bore it all with patience and foritude.

The funeral was held at the home of her daugher, Mrs. CONANT, at nine o'clock Sunday morning. Rev. I.G. HOPKINS, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the funeral service, after which the body was taken to York [Nebraska] from whence it was shipped to Independence, Mo., where it was placed in its final resting place, beside that of her life companion [Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, Jackson County, Missouri].

NOTE: William McCONNELL, the son of James McCONNELL (1813-1887) and Melinda Ann (BOHALL) McCONNELL (1828-1884), was born in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana, on March 21, 1846, and died February 16, 1907, Independence, Missouri. 1) Infant Son McCONNELL
