OBITUARY - RITA ARENDS, 61, MALOY

Rita ARENDS, 61, Maloy, IA., formerly of Jewell [Iowa], died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Clearview Home in Clearfield. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Clearfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Alan RUSK officiating. A second service will be held Friday at the Kamrar Community Church in Kamrar at 2 p.m. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 12 p.m. until the service time. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Kamrar [Hamilton County, Iowa]. Wilson Watson Funeral Home of Clearfield is in charge of arrangements.

Rita MADSEN, daughter of Robert and Mildred (COLLINS) MADSEN, was born March 31, 1938 in Webster City. On Feb. 4, 1956, she married Wyatt ARENDS Jr. at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was a homemaker and florist and ran Peterson Floral in Corning for a few years. She had moved to Maloy five years ago [1995] from Jewell.

Survivors are her mother, Mildred MADSEN, Marshalltown; son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Chris ARENDS of Maloy, daughters and son-in-law, Carrie ARENDS of Florida, and Kellie and Lom CAVEN of Jewell; grandchildren Makayla CAVEN, Breann, Logan and Baylee ARENDS; brother and sister-in-lay, Tim and Carla MADSEN of Marshalltown, sister, Penny BERG of Ottumwa.

She was a member of Clearfield United Methodist Church.

NOTE: Wyatt ARENDS, Jr. was born June 21, 1938, and died May 23, 1998.
