MARTHA LYNN JONES

Martha Lynn JONES, youngest child of William and Hazel (HULLINGER) JONES, was born March 24, 1952, at Creston, Iowa, and departed this life on Sept. 15, 1966, in the Ringgold County Hospital, at the age of 14 years, five months and 22 days. She had been in failing health for the past year.

Her entire life was spent on a farm near Tingley with her parents.

She attended the Ellston and Tingley schools for her firest seven years and graduated from the eighth grade of the Mount Ayr Community School. She was an active member of th Ellston Methodist Church and her local 4-H club.

Her greatest pleasure came from helping others and caring for her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Preceding her in death were an infant brother, Gene Lee, and her grandparents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents; four sisters, Mrs. Mary COLLIER, Simi, Calif., Mrs. Mildred PITTMAN, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Margaret THOMAS, Grand River, and Mrs. Maxine McGILVEY, Eldora; five brothers, Lloyd, Afton; David, Woodburn; and Robert, Curtis, and Kendrick of the home; nine nieces; seven nephews, and a host of friends.

"What a pity," folks sadly say,
"That God took her for His bouquet
"Why not an elder one instead
"Withlife all lived and prayers all said?"
But do we pick a withered rose?
We choose the fairest flower that grows,
Likewise God takes the bud most fair
For those in Heaven's gates to share.

Funeral services were held Sept. 17 from the Ellston Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry NICHOLS. Mrs. Jim JONES and Mrs. Leo MORGAN sang, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Lee HUNT. Casketbearers were Jim JONES, Clarence WOODS, Howard WURSTER, Lyle HOSFIELD, Wilber LAY and Vaughn CASE. Interment was in the Ellston Cemetery.
