NOTICE of DEATH.

- DIED - Will W. MERRILL at Boulder City, Colo., July 3, 1884, aged 23 years. He had been in poor health for a long time, being afflicted with lung trouble. he made a trip to Colorado, which benefitted him so much that he went again. But this time it was too late. The seeds of disease had settled so deep that no remedy could help him. The body reached Mt. Ayr on Monday evening and the burial took place [at Rose Hill Cemetery] on Tuesday. He was a great favorite with the young people here, and will be sadly missed.

NOTE: Will W. MERRILL, the son of John T. and Martha H. (BAIRD), was born in Iowa on November 19, 1861. WPA records indicate that he died in Palo Alto County, Iowa. Will's siblings were Julia A., John B., Ralph L., and Charles L. MERRILL. John T. MERRILL, Will's father, was born on July 2, 1835, and died on December 13, 1904. His mother, Martha H. (BAIRD) MERRILL, was born on May 1, 1836, and died on March 23, 1914. John B. MERRILL, Will's brother, was born on September 19, 1864, and died on April 19, 1914, and died in 1973.
