Mary Eliza KLING, daughter of John William and Sarah KLING, was born May 6, 1838, in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. F. MERRITT, near Kellerton, January 5, 1925, aged 86 years, seven months and twenty-nine days. She was married to Robert Colman MERRILL on November 26th, 1856, who preceded her in death on the 10th day of January, 1886. To this To this union was born four children: John W. of Kellerton, Samuel N. of Wary, Colo., Sarah E. and Nancy [illegible], both of Kellerton. She moved with her parents from Pennsylvania to Illinois at the age of twelve years and with the exception of a few years spent in Harrison county, Missouri. All the rest of her life was spent in Ringgold county, Iowa.

Grandma leaves besides her children, two sisters, Mrs. Nancy C. COLE, of Barnard, Mo., and Mrs. John H. INCO, of Benton, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; also a host of relatives and friends. Three brothers have already preceded her in death.

She was baptized in infancy and joined the M.E. church in early girlhood and has remained a faithful member until death.

Grandma went peacefully to sleep to awaken in the arms of Jesus safely away from all earthly cares and worries.

"Far from this shadowy land,
Where all is bright and fair,
I know full well these dear old hands
With palms of victory bear,
When crystal streams through endless years
Flow over golden sands
And when the old grow young again,
I'll clasp my mother's hands."
Funeral services were held at Kellerton at the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. C. F. BENNETT. Interment was made in Merritt cemetery.

Card of Thanks.

We take this means of expressing thanks to the neighbors and friends for their kindness during the illness and on the occasion of the death and funeral of our mother and grandmother.
