OBITUARY - WILLIAM JAMES McMASTER.

William James McMASTER, son of William and Mary McMASTER, was born in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada, on June 19, 1861. In 1871 he came with his parents to Ringgold county, where he lived until his death on November 8, at the age of 72 years, four months and 19 days. He passed away at the home of Mrs. Carl BRANDT, where he had been tenderly cared for in his illness.

He made confession of his faith in Christ in early manhood and became a member of the United Presbyterian church of Mount Ayr. The kind and gentle spirit of his Master was reflected in his quiet, consistent Christian life. When a sudden attack of rheumatism brough on heart failure and death, there passed away one who for 62 years had been known by the people of Mount Ayr and vicinity.

A sister, Elizabeth, preceded him in death in 1909; and a brother David, of Creston, in May of this year.

Four sisters and three brothers survive. Four of these reside in Tarkio, Mo. - Miss Jennie McMASTER, Mrs. Clifton M. WAUGH, Mr. Ezra C. McMASTER and Mr. John McMASTER. A sister, Mrs. Robert McMASTER, lives at Creston; another sister, Mrs. H. Y. LUPHER, at Lorimor; and a brother, Howard H. McMASTER, at Emporia, Kansas.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, November 11, at two o'clock, at the Rhoades Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, conducted by Dr. Jesse JOHNSON, pastor of the Mount Ayr United Presbyterian church, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

NOTE: William's father William McMASTER was born in 1810, and died at the age of 72 years in 1882. His mother, Mary (SKELTON) McMASTER, was born in 1830, and died in 1893. Of William's siblings, Ezra C. was born in 1847, and died in 1943; John S. was born in 1854, and died on December 29, 1935; Elizabeth was born in 1856, and died in 1909; Jennie was born in 1863, and died in 1938. They were all interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.

William's brother, David M. McMASTER was born in 1865, and died in 1933 with interment at Graceland Cemetery, Creston, Union County, Iowa.
