OBITUARY - ELSIE McFARLAND.

Elsie Arminta, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis McFARLAND, was born in Grant Township July 16, 1890, and died July 18, 1899, aged 9 years and two days. Her sickness was of short duration. She was a bright and happy child of a kind and cheeful disposition and was a general favorite among her associates, but too frail for earth and so the Master called her to a milder climate. She will be greatly missed by her parents and many others, especially by an only brother and sister who are sick at this writing. She greet a brother, a grandmother and many others on the "happy golden shore." The casket was adorned with many floral pieces from her friends. The funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church at Benton and the sacred dust waslaid to rest beside other dead kindred in the Shay [Benton] grave yard [Benton, Ringgold County, Iowa.]

NOTE: Elise's father, Lewis H. McFARLAND, was born in 1859, and died in 1915 with interment at Benton Cemetery.
