RITES HELD FOR
DELLA CORROUGH,
LIFELONG RESIDENT

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the James-Schalinske Funeral Home for Mrs. Della Corrough, 91, lifelong resident of the Grinnell area who died Thursday at a local hospital following an illness of the past four months.

Officiating at the services was the Rev. Robert D. Dewey, pastor of the Congregational church. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Kathleen Heffner.

Serving as pallbearers were Raymond Norris, Joe L. Brown, Croft Pilgrim, Carl Child, Clifford Ellis, and Al Renaud. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

The daughter of William and Mary Keller Dodge, she was born July 22nd, 1872, in Pleasant township on a farm south of Malcom. She attended the rural school of that community and Malcom high school. In 1892, she moved to Grinnell with her parents and for the past 74 years had resided at 532 High Street.

On Sept. 24th, 1894, at Grinnell, she was united in marriage with William L. Corrough. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Ray (Wilma) Schultz of Waterloo, and her son Dana, of Colorado Springs, Colo. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 3rd, 1947.

She was a member of the First Congregational church and active in church groups until her health failed. She served two terms on the church board of trustees. She was a member of the D.A.R. and belonged to the Priscilla Club.

Besides her daughter and son, she is survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and two brothers.
