RITES FOR PAUL ARMSTRONG HELD SATURDAY

Funeral services for Paul Armstrong were held at the Steffy Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, with the Rev. Howard Hayes officiating. Dean Lankford was soloist at the services accompanied by Mrs. Dean Lankford, organist.

Interment was in Jackson Township Cemetery with Lewis Hasley, George Beason, Robert Beason, Howard Hasley, Jack VanCleave and Ralph Stanford, Jr., serving as casket bearers.

Mr. Armstrong, 46, died at Dubuque on Wednesday, Aug. 23.

The son of Emmett and Alice Bingham Armstrong, he was born at Searsboro on Sept. 4, 1920.

On Oct. 20, 1945, he was united in marriage with Macel Gott in Montezuma. Most of their married life was spent in Cedar Rapids until they moved to Montezuma in May, 1966.

Mr. Armstrong was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and was employed by the Cedar Falls Construction Co. He served four years in the United States Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Kenneth Paul; a sister, Elmira Eberly of Legonier, Ind.; three brothers, Robert of Springdale, Pa., David of Larwill, Ind., Harry of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; two uncles, Hugh Hunter of Grinnell with whom he made his home for many years, and Ora Bingham of Topeka, Ind.
