MACEL L. HASLEY

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma for Macel L. Hasley. Rev. Bobbie Dickerson of the Christian Church, Montezuma, officiated. Kathleen Ramsey was organist.

Casket-bearers were William Moore, John Whitehead, George Whitehead, John Hasley, Mike Hasley and David Falkenhagen. Interment was in Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma.

Macel Luella Hasley, 55, daughter of Willis and Emma Mae (Farr) Gott, was born May 20, 1928 at Barnes City, Iowa and died Dec. 24, 1983 at University Hospital in Iowa City.

She attended Montezuma High School. In 1945 she was united in marriage with Paul Armstrong. They lived in Cedar Rapids until moving to Montezuma in 1964. Paul died Aug. 23, 1967. On Oct. 20, *1967 she was united in marriage with Howard Hasley. They lived in Great Bend, Kan., for two years before moving to Montezuma. She was a nurses aid at Goeke Nursing Home and the Montezuma Senior Home.

She was a member of the Montezuma Christian Church and later of the Asberry Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Pythian Sisters and Eagles.

She was preceded in death by her father; her first husband, Paul, and one sister, Dorothy Whitehead.

She is survived by her mother, Mae Gott of Montezuma; her husband, Howard of Montezuma; one son, Kenneth Armstrong of Des Moines; four step children: Paul Hasley of Montezuma, Tom Hasley of Norfolk, Va., Jesse Hasley of Cadillac, Mich., and Janice McLandsborough of Montezuma; 11 step-grandchildren and two sisters: Vema, Mrs. James White of Long Beach, Calif., and Betty, Mrs. Lester Beason of Ely.
