MAX W. RINGLER

Memorial services will be Saturday morning, Oct. 3, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home for Max W. Ringler, 82, of Brooklyn, who died Wednesday, Sept.23, 1998 in Phoenix, Ariz. Rev. Ronald Van Heukelom will officiate and burial of cremains will be in the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Max Warren Ringler, son of Harry Ringler and Adalene Gwin Ringler Tuttle, was born June 16, 1916 at Carnforth, Poweshiek County. He received his education in a country school through 8th grade and then went to Victor Public School. He served from November, 1943 to November, 1945, with the Army Corps of Engineers.

He lived with his parents and grandmother Gwin helping farm. He moved to Brooklyn 53 years ago where he worked for 43 years for REC/TIP and was superintendent retiring in 1983.

Max was married to Florence Kann on August 19, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. He was baptized in the Christian Church at Carnforth. He was a life member of Amateur Trapshooting Assn., Vandalia, Ohio, and was a 53 year member of the American Legion Post #294 of Brooklyn. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, trapshooting, and was a fan of car racing and other sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Harry Tuttle; brother, Richard; and son-in-law, Steve Bernardin.

Survivors include his wife, Florence; one daughter, Jo Ellyn Bernardin, Hartland, Mi.; and two grandsons, Michael and David Bernardin.
