-------------------------

Ann McCaw, daughter of William and Margaret McCaw, was born in *Belly Buttle, County Down, Ireland, June 18, 1859, and departed this life Nov. 1, 1927, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 13 days. She was one of seven children, all of whom have preceded her in death.

When grown to young womanhood she came to America. On Feb. 24, 1891 she was united in marriage to William Grant. To this union five children were born. One having died in infancy, she leaves still living her husband and four daughters, Mrs. Homer E. Dawkins, Mrs. J.W. Mills, Mrs. Amos E. Myers, and Miss Verna Grant; also two grand sons.

Until 12 years ago, when the family moved to Grinnell, she lived on a farm near Ewart. Before coming to this country she confessed her faith in Christ, and united with the United Presbyterian church, to which she was always a faithful and devoted member to the very end.

She was a wonderful wife and mother. For others she planned, labored, sacrificed. Her highest pleasure was in devotion to her family and the church. Her children rise up and call her blessed. She was a loyal member and active worker in the women's Missionary Society, helping to serve at the last meeting, and always busy doing or making something to help spread the gospel and give greater comfort to the needy, a modern Dorcas, making with her own hands garments and other articles for less fortunate women and children.

Many fellow members and friends mourn with the stricken family, mingling their tears and offering sympathy and comfort. "It is the Lord; let him do what seemeth good in his sight."

The funeral was conducted yesterday afternoon at the United Presbyterian church by the Rev. J.I. Frederick. Pall-bearers were: George Manor, R.H. Gray, T.H. McIlrath, J.L. Hockett, William Hamilton, Mr. Birchard.

The music was furnished by a mixed quartette composed of Wendell Lewis, C.S. Myers, Mrs. Ethel Carter, and Mrs. Lydia Hutchison, with Mrs. F.R. Porter at the organ.
