I have just started genealogy searches for various family lines. I am also working on genealogy information on my husbands family. His father was born in Polk County, and is now deceased. His name was Charles Edward Allen born in 1936 to Harold Allen and Cecelia Martin. I have no additional history, middle names or dates on Harold and Cecelia. What do you recommend? How do i obtain a birth certificate -- where do i request one from? Any suggestions will be helpful.
