Howard - Ankeny landowners

HOWARD OR HOWARDS

My grandfather, Jacob Arie Van Dyke, rented farmland from a family by the name of Howard in the middle to late teens -- 1915 till maybe 1925 or so. I am searching for a plat map, preferably online, to try to figure out where the farm was located but have been unsuccessful with finding anything online. Will I need to go to the Genealogy Library to find out more? [I live out of state]. Any ideas?
