Mrs. Lillian Delaney, Of Vermillion, S. D.

Mrs. Lillian Delaney, of Vermillion, S. D., a former Akron Resident, died at her home there Tuesday, June 9, 1959, aged 76 years, 8 months and 28 days.

Lillian Tripp was born in Union county, S. D., west of Akron, September 12, 1882, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tripp, early day residents of the vicinity. She married Thomas P. Delaney in Akron March 17, 1901, and they moved to Vermillion a number of years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1927, also by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, in 1923; three sons, Patrick James, in 1925, and Ernest Charles and Harold Knute, both killed in World War II action in 1944.

Mrs. Delaney was a member of the Baptist church and of the American Legion Auxillary in Vermillion, and was a Gold Star Mother.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Lee McDonald, Mrs. Clarence Voudry, Mrs. Earl Brown and Mrs. Wilber Brown, all of Vermillion, and Mrs. Edward Turner, of Yankton; five sons, Thomas of Sioux Falls, John Martin of Volin, Joe W. and Wilbur R., both of Vermillion, and James P. of Kinglsley, Ia., and 54 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Elmore-Wagner funeral home in Vermillion, Rev. Eugene Todd officiating. Burial was in Akron Riverside cemetery.
