Thomas William Delaney,
Funeral services for Thomas, 54 years old, former resident of Clay County, were held Sunday morning at 9:00 o'clock at the Elmore undertaking parlors. Interment was at Akron, Iowa, where Mr. Delaney has two children buried.
For a year Mr. Delaney had been suffering from cancer of the throat and several months before his death he lost the use of his voice. Death occurred last Friday afternoon at his farm home near Woonsocket.
During his residence in this country he ran the Jolley farm, which is located just north of Vermillion. He was also employed on the farms of T.R. Walker and Martin Weeks.
Thomas Delaney was born in Ireland in 1872 and came to the United States when he was a young man. He is survived by his wife and twelve children.
