Mary Elizabeth Delaney died after an illness of about two weeks of pneumonia, following an operation for appendicitis, at the Akron Hospital. Miss Mary Delaney passed away there Sunday evening, March 18,1923, at 8:30 o'clock, aged 20 years and 22 days.

Mary Elizabeth Delaney was born to Thomas and Lillian (Tripp) Delaney in Union county,S.D., February 24, 1903. She later moved with her parents, Mr and Mrs Thos. Delaney, to a farm near Wakonda, S.D., which is the present family home. Besides her parents, she is survived by several brothers and sisters at Wakonda, by her grandmother, Mrs Eliza Tripp and other relatives in this city, all of whom have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement. The deceased was a young woman of fine character and industrious habits. She came here last October from Wakonda and assisted for a time in the home of her cousin. Chas. Fursee. Later whe took employment in the home of Mr and Mrs Wm. A. Olson, northwest of town, where she was taken ill three or four weeks ago.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. G.J. Poppenheimer, of the Akron M.E. church, on Monday at Klauer Bros' Undertaking parlors. There were quite a number of relatives and friends present to pay a final tribute of respect. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
