Though it doesn’t mention it. He was preceded in death by his parents James Thomas Reed (died in 1937) and Ellena (Hunter) Reed (died in 1954 in Los Angeles, CA) and two sisters. A twin sister Thora Elizabeth Reed who died in 1919 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Plymouth County, Iowa beside her father. He also was preceded in death by an older sister Mona (Reed) Britton who died in Los Angeles in 1981 and his first wife Bertha (Stewart) Reed in 1952 I have been unable to locate the obituary of the mother who probably is buried in Los Angeles, CA. He lived for awhile in Akron, Iowa when he was young.
