At the home of his daughter, Mrs. James T. Reed, of Akron, Iowa, July20, 1919, Urijah Granvill Hunter, who was born in Breckenridge county, Kentucky, April 8, 1838, where he resided until he was a young man, going from there to Illinois, where he was married to Elizabeth J. Morrow, February 2, 1873.

She preceded him in death thirty-one years.

To this union three children were born, two sons, John O. and Raymond J., both departing this life in early childhood, and one daughter, Mrs. James Reed, who with three grandchildren and two sisters and two brothers of deceased are left to mourn his death.

Deceased came to Akron two years ago to make his home with his daughter. His physical condition being quite feeble because of heart trouble and although almost bereft of his eyesight for some years, he was always very patient.

In his earlier days he was a great reader and greatly enjoyed the study of the Bible, and united with the Church of Christ when a young man. Although being confined to his bed for nine weeks previous to his death he showed a marked degree of vitality and patience for one of his advanced age, he being 81 years, 3 months and 11 days of age at the time of his departure.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. J. E. Emanuel were held at the Christian church in Akron on Tuesday, July 22. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Britton, of Minneapolis, Minn.
