Mrs. Elmer (Lorraine) Dimmick, 76, route 1. Elk Point, died Thursday (Jan. 24, 1985) in a private home in Vermillion, S.D. after a long illness.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Benard Nelson officiated. Carol Harris, soloist, sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "What A Friend", accompanied on the organ by Phyllis Frisk. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron, under the direction of the Schroeder funeral home.
Pallbearers were Daniel Lanning, Alan Lanning, Donald Dimmick, Raymond Dimmick, Terry Lanning, Jon Dimmick, and Arden Dimmick.
Mrs. Dimmick, the former Lorraine Ida Dorothy Fredrickson, was born Dec. 14, 1908 to Max and Alma Jurgensen Fredrickson in Plymouth County, near Akron, Iowa.
She married Elmer Dimmick, Oct. 5, 1932 in Elk Point. They farmed in Union county, South Dakota.
Mrs. Dimmick was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church of Akron, and a member of the Union county extension club for many years. She lived the past 2 1/2 months in the private home in Vermillion.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer; two sons, Dellis of Elk Point, and Delvin of North Platte, Neb.; one daughter, Mardeen Lanning of Elk Point; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Carroll of Sioux City, Raymond of Downey, Calif., and Luverne of Jefferson, and one sister, Leora McCormick of Downey, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
