HINTON, Iowa – Carl D. Eberhard, 73, Hinton, Iowa, died Aug. 23 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Hinton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Charles E. Mason will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson-Berger Northside Funeral Home of Sioux City.
Mr. Eberhard was born June 17, 1903, in Plymouth County. He married Marjorie Woodley Dec. 10, 1925, at Elk Point, S. D.
He was a grocery clerk in many stores in Sioux City until he retired 10 years ago.
He was a member of the Hinton United Methodist Church and had served on the church board. He was a former member of the Hinton Town Council and was a member of the Senior Citizens of Hinton.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Dolores) Sitzmann of rural Kingsley; his step-mother, Mrs. Meta Eberhard of Rialto, Calif.; six brothers, Harold of Mitchell, S. D., Walter of Merrill, Rudolph of Le Mars, Willard of Buellton.
