Note: Her first name is actually spelled Lucele and last name is actually spelled Eberhard. Her mother's maiden name was Kalas.

Obituary

Lucile Elizabeth daughter of Charles Eberhardt and his wife Minnie, nee Hahn, was born May 31, 1901, in Liberty township, Plymouth county and died August 20, 1909, at the tender age of eight years, two months and thirty days. The cause of her death was typhoid fever from which she suffered several weeks.

Lucile was a good, obedient child, a faithful scholar of Perry Creek United Evangelical Sunday school and was generally beloved and will be much missed.

She leaves to mourn her death her bereaved parents , four brothers and one sister and a large circle of relatives and friends. Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the Perry Creek Evangelical church last Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large concourse of people.

The funeral services were conducted at the house by Rev. H. Kalas in German and by the pastor J. d. Klooz, at the church in English.

Though her obituary doesn’t mention it her siblings that she was survived by were named Harold, Walter, sister Ruth, brother David, and her brother Rudolph and her maternal grandparents William Kalas and grandmother Maria “Mary” (Erhardt) Kalas.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents David and Barbara (Holch) Eberhard.
