Her mother's maiden name is Erhardt and she is buried in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery.

DEATH WAS SUDDEN

WELL KNOWN LIBERTY TOWNSHIP RESIDENT IS STRICKEN

SHE WAS HURRIED TO A HOSPITAL

Seized with Hemorrhage Which Proved Fatal in a Few Hours—Leaves a Husband and Seven Young Children and Many Friends to Mourn

Mrs. C. D. Eberhard, of Liberty, died yesterday morning in Merrill, following an operation for internal hemorrhage. She was hurried to the doctor as soon as she was stricken but the physicians were unable to check the hemorrhage.

She is survived by her husband and seven children, the oldest a son who is in the army and will land in France sometime this week.

The funeral services at the house will be held at 10 o’clock on Wednesday mornig and at the United Evangelical church in Le Mars at noon of the same day. Rev. F. W. Agle and Rev. Zuehl being in charge of the services.

Mr. Eberhard has the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in this county in this great sorrow that has fallen on his home.

Though her obituary doesn’t mention their names she was survived by her oldest son Harold stationed in France, her son Walter, a daughter Ruth, son David, son Rudolph, son Willard and son Eldon.

A mother Maria (Mary) Erhardt Kalas of Le Mars. A sister Emma Kaelke of Le Mars, Ia.; a brother Rev. Henry Kalas; a sister Maria (called Mary) of Merrill; Ella Wetzel; John Kalas of Sioux City; William Kalas; Otto Kalas and a sister Esther Zimmerman of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her father Wilhelm (William) Kalas; a brother Wilhelm who died in 1881 at age 9, a brother in infancy 1886; a sister in infancy 1887 and a daughter Lucille Eberhard in 1909 at age 8.
