Another dear friend has departed. Another precious son has gone out from Earth’s family circle. Another lonely brother has fallen asleep here to be awakened there by the love of our Father in heaven.

Beloved of many friends, tho in the bonds of affliction, hopeful and cheerful through all the taxation of body and spirit patient in tribulation, Newton Kaelke was to the last very thoughtful of the comfort and welfare of others. To know him, said one, was to love him.

The given the best of care and the attention of physicians and attendants he finished his course Sunday, March 14 at the Sunny Crest sanitarium in Dubuque, Ia. His birthday was on June 6, in 1908. While yet in the forenoon of life he heard the call to come away from the affairs of earth.

A boy’s book has closed here. Both book and boy are with God.

Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kaelke of Le Mars, four sisters, Elna Kaelke of Le Mars, Fern Kaelke of Le Mars, Esther and Leona Kaelke of Sioux City, and one brother, Wallace Kawlke of Sioux City.

Funeral services were conducted at Mauer’s funeral parlors and the Free Methodist church, March 17 by Rev. George R. Moir.
