Funeral services for John H. Meyer were held at 11:00 a.m. September 20, 1989 at First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, Iowa with Rev. Gregory Bock officiating. The final resting place is Prairie View cemetery, Paullina, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian Eldridge Funeral Home.

Obituary

John H. Meyer, the son of John and Bertha Meyer was born December 1, 1899 in Cedar County near Bennett, Iowa. He received his education in a Lutheran school near Bennett. On January 31, 1923, he was united in marriage to Lucille Hagenbucher in Hartley, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed one mile north of Sutherland for several years before moving to a farm east of Paullina and farming there until the couple's retirement in 1966. At this time the couple moved into Paullina. John passed away at his residence on Monday, September 18, 1989, reaching the age of 89 years, 9 months, and 7 days.

John leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lucille of Paullina; one sone and daughter-in-law, Robert and Charlotte Meyer of Charlotte, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Steven, Kara, and Susan; one great granddaughter, Grace; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Lemke of Sutherland, Iowa, also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Zelma Salzkorn.
