Amanda (Stoterau) Struck (1873=1960)

Mrs. Amanda Struck, nee Stoterau, the daughter of Fred and Marie Miller Stoterau, was born in Scott County, Iowa on October 23, 1873. She passed into eternal rest on August 31, 1960 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 8 days.

She attended the public schools near her childhood home, and had lived in Scott County until after she was married. After a short residence in Elkton, South Dakota, the family lived at Hartley, Iowa until 1928. Since that time she had resided with her daughters.

Her marriage to Charles Struck took place on September 12, 1983 in Scott County. To them were born six children, three of whom preceded her in death. Also preceding her were three sisters, two brothers, and a grandson.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Redfield, South Dakota.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Mabel (Mrs Walter Schoff) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mrs. Vera Wilkens of Redfield, South Daktoa, and Hazel (Mrs. Walter Epping) of Emmetsburg, Iowa; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, Julius Stoterau of West Liberty, Iowa, and Peter Stoterau of San Diego, California, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a great many friends.
