William Egdorf, son of the late Carl and Sophia Egdorf of Germany, was born in that country on March 30, 1864. When a young lad of about twelve years old he came to this country and settled In Illinois until he moved to O'Brien county, Iowa, in 1885, being then a young man of twenty-one years of age, and continued to work in different places until about six years ago, when he settled on his farm four miles northwest of Primghar.

About three weeks ago he contracted a severe cold which developed into a serious case of pneumonia and resulted in his death at the St. Joseph hospital, Sioux City, on Tuesday afternoon of last week.

He is survived by one sister and four brothers Mrs. Christ Wrede and August Egdorf of Paullina, Charles, Freeport, Illinois, Louie, of Indiana, and Fred, who still lives In Germany. Also many other relatives who live in this and the surrounding communities.

On Friday afternoon of last week funeral services, conducted by the Rev. H. P Morgan, were held at the home of August Egdorf and in the local Presbyterian Church, with impressive music by Mrs. W. J. E. Thatcher who was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Weston D. Ralston in the church auditorium being filled with relatives and friends of the departed. Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery, the following relatives serving as pallbearers: Fred Egdorf, Edward Egdorf, Louie Egdorf, Charlie Egdorf, August Egdorf and Henry Puhrmann.
