Funeral services for Walter E. Grimberg were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 1991, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Stephen Kamprath officiating. The pallbearers were Jerry Massmann, Harlen Tesch, Eldon Tesch, Dale Tesch, Larry Jurgensen and Craig Bottjen. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Walter Edward Grimberg, the son of Henry and Emma Baldwin Grimberg, was born November 29, 1906, in Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Iowa. He received his education in O'Brien County rural schools and St. John's Lutheran School.

On September 18, 1930, he was united in marriage to Ida Holtgrewe at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Paullina area until his retirement in 1972. The couple moved into Paullina in 1975.

Walter had been a resident of the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina since December 18, 1985. He passed away at the home on Monday, April 8, 1991, reaching the age of 84 years, 4 months and 9 days.

He was baptized on December 14, 1906, and later confirmed on April 24, 1921, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. He was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.

Waller leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ida of Paullina; one son and daughter-in-law: Murl and Margaret Grimberg of Paullina; and one daughter and son-in-law, Verla and Marvin Hatting of Mankato, Minnesota; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a nephew, Jerry Massmann of Minneapolis, Minneapolis; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.
