Caroline Marie Jurgensen, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna Geringer Holtgrewe, was born December 29, 1900, in Cherokee County, Iowa She attended school near her childhood home.

She was united in marriage to George Jurgensen on January 15, 1919, on the Jurgensen farm near Paullina. They lived all their life on a farm near Paullina, Iowa. Her husband, George, passed away in September, 1965.

She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Calumet, and a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

She passed away at the hospital in Cherokee on August 26, 1983, at the age of 82.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one grandson, Rodney, in 1970, one brother, one sister, and her husband, George.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons and their wives, Lloyd and Arlene Jurgensen of Peterson and Larry and Carol Jurgensen of Paullina, one daughter, Lorraine Jurgensen at home, three brothers, Roy of Marcus, Iowa, Burdette of Le Mars, Iowa, and Benjamin Jr., of Remsen, Iowa; nine sisters, Esther Ott of Remsen, Iowa, Lillian Ott of Paullina, Elsie Holtgrewe of Remsen, Mrs. Harry (Bernice) Bottjen of Remsen, Mrs. Harry (Nora) Tesch of Primghar, Mrs. Walter (Ida) Grimberg of Paullina, Mrs. Carl (Gladys) Bottjen of Hawarden, Mrs. Shirley LeMoine of Mesa, Arizona, and Mrs. John (Irma) Lowery of Omaha, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
