Funeral services for Arthur A. Meyer were held at Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar, Iowa, on Thursday, April 14, 1994, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor James Mueller officiated. The casket bearers were Donald Elser, Kenneth Sampson, Arnold Steuck, Robert Jensen, Delbert Schwien and Gerald Leng. Dale and Wilma Reese and Ron and Esther Kurth were in charge of flowers. Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley, Iowa, under the direction of the Sanborn Funeral Home Service.

Arthur A. Meyer, the son of Otto and Kathe (Weierhauser) Meyer, was born at Spencer, Iowa, on March 17, 1931. He lived his youth in the Spencer and Moneta areas, graduating from the Moneta High School. Art also served in the United States Army until being honorably discharged so he could assist his family.

He was united in marriage to Hazel Hattermann on December 12, 1954, at Paullina, Iowa. Art and Hazel spent their married life farming near Primghar. For the past several winters, they had enjoyed semi-retirement in Mesa, Arizona. Art died at Baum-Harmon Hospital at Primghar, Iowa, on April 10, 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Primghar; his daughter, Carla Naber and her husband, Noel and children: Terri, Bruce, Lanea, Leah and Leslee of Primghar; son, Dan and his wife, Joy and children: Todd and Katie of Chandler, Arizona; son, Tim and his wife, Teri of Chicago, Illinois; and son, Joe and his wife, Ann of Wahpeton, Iowa; one sister, Marianne Berhow and husband, Conrad of Ames, Iowa; two aunts: Ria LaBarre of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Martha Jost of Germany; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Art was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar where he was currently serving on the Church Council. He had served as a 4-H Leader for many years and was a past member of the CD Farm Service Board, the O'Brien County Fair Board, the Osceola Rural Water Board and the Board of Directors of Sanborn Co-Op Grain. Art will be remembered for the many hours he spent in his shop keeping all of his machinery in excellent working order.
