Beatrice L. Perry
Funeral services for Beatrice L. Perry were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 1998, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Primghar, Iowa, with Father Gerald Zeman officiating.
The lector was Shirley Stoll. "Amazing Grace,"
"Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "On Eagle's
Wings " were sung by the St. Anthony's Church Choir. The organist was Sandy DuBay
Beatrice Luveme Perry, the daughter of Harold M. and Gladys May Simmons Sandbeck, was born
December 16, 1921, at Crosby, Minnesota. She received her education at Kimberly, Minnesota, until the 8th grade and completed her GED in
1986 at the age of 65. The completion of her education was very important to her.
On May 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Dalton Perry in Kalispell, Montana. To this union seven children were born.
The couple lived the majority of their married life in Aitkin, Minnesota, where she stayed
at home to care for her family.
In 1971 the couple moved to Sibley, Iowa. In Sibley, she worked for the Green Thumb program at the Upper Des Moines Office and became very
actively involved in the Head Start Council, Concerned Citizens and Fare Share. She served on the local UDMO Advisory Board for 7 years
and the Regional Executive Board for 5 years. She was recognized for outstanding service to UDMO. She was also very involved as an advocate for children against child abuse.
In 1993 the couple moved to Worthington,
Minnesota, to make their home.
In September of 1995, the couple became residents of the Primghar Care Center.
Her husband preceded her in death on March 18,
1996, in Primghar.
She passed away at the Care Center on Saturday,
August 1, 1998, reaching the age of 76 years, 7 months and 15 days.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Primghar.
Her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were of great joy to her. She also loved to sew, make quilts, do crafts and listen to music.
Left to cherish her memory are four sons: David and his wife, Deb Perry of Primghar, Iowa, Michael Perry of Aitkin, Minnesota, Edward and his wife, Shirley Perry of East Otto, New York, and Harry John and his Wife, Dawn Perry of Big Lake, Minnesota; three daughters: Carol and her husband, John Weber of Myrtle, Minnesota,
Phyllis Nash of Aitkin, Minnesota, and Julie and her husband, Francis Majerus of Worthington, Minnesota; 29 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Melvin
Sandbeck of Aitkin, Minnesota, and John Sandbeck of Pensacola, Florida; one sister,
Myrtle Lundquist of Dassel, Minnesota; also a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Dalton; parents; one sister, Marie Rullman; one brother, Clarence Sandbeck; and nephew, Danny Sandbeck.
