MRS ANNA KLUENDER
1882-1965

Mrs. Anna Kluender, nee Anna Koch, the daughter of Hans and Katherine Block Kock, was born Aug 25, 1882 at Kleinbennebeck in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany She entered into eternal life on Oct. 21, 1965 in Hartley, Iowa, at the age of 83 years, 1 month, and 26 days.

She came to America at the age of 2, and, with the exception of four years in Tama County, Iowa, had been a resident of O'Brien county all her life. She attended the Lutheran school at Germantown and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At the time of her death, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hartley.

On Feb. 17, 1901 she was united in marriage to William J. Kluender at Germantown. To them were born 9 children The family farmed in the Paullina area for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Nora (Mrs. Fred Wolter), one sister, Tina Koch Puhrman [Puhrmann], and one brother, John Koch.

Mrs. Kluender had been hospitalized for about 6 weeks; but had been a resident of Mc Croskey's nursing Home for about 9 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her 8 children, Richard of Ogilvie, Minn.; Lillian (Mrs. Albert Tesch) of Hartley, Mabel (Mrs. Ed Pauling) of Lamberton, Minn.; Viola (Mrs. Phil Hamman) of Milbank, S Dak., Ray of Queen City, Mo., Verna (Mrs. Rolland Knuth) of Wayne, Mich., Roy of West Covina, Calif., Elsie (Mrs. Carl Mews) of Dearborn, Mich.; 35 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Mrs. John Koch of Paullina, and many other relatives, as well as her many friends.
