Services for G. Robert Cole, Jr.

Services for G. Robert Cole, Jr. were held at the United Methodist Church, Sutherland, Iowa, on Thursday, May 31, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. James Nicholson officiated.

The committal service was held at Waterman Cemetery, Sutherland. The Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

G. Robert Coke, the sone of George and Cora Paxton Cole, was born November 6, 1909 at Richmond, Illinois. He moved with his parents to Platte, South Dakota, and attended school there. He also attended Business School in Sioux Falls. He moved from South Dakota to Sutherland in 1932.

He was united in marriage to Elva Holck on May 31, 1941 at South Sioux City, Nebraska. They made their home on the farm near Sutherland until moving to town in 1975. He and his family attended the United Methodist Church in Sutherland.

He passed away at Mesquite, Texas on May 27, 1984 at the age of 74. Preceding him in death were his parents and infant daughter, Patricia.

Left to cherish his memory ae his wife, Elva, two daughters and their husbands, Judy and Dean Sampson of Clinton, Iowa, and Carole and Richard Brooks of Rockwell, Texas, five grandchildren, Jon, Troy, and Amy Sampson, Brian and Rebecca Brooks; one brother, Sidney Cole of Primghar, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
