Funeral service for Sidney C. Cole

Funeral services for Sidney C. Cole, who passed away on December 17, were held at the United Church of Primghar on Friday, December 20 at 1:30 pm. with Rev. Don Morrison officiating. Arrangemnets were under the care of Gaudian Eldridge Funeral Home in Primghar.

Sidney C. Cole, the son of George R. and Cora Paxson Cole, was born November 16, 1911 in Platte, South Dakota. He attended country School and later, Platte High School. He moved with his family to the Sutherland area where he began farming southeast of Primghar.

On June 27, 1948, he was united in marriage to Ethel Kuehl at the United Methodist Church. After their marriage, the couple made their home on the family farm southeast of Primghar. Sid farmed until his retirement in 1983. For the last several years, he had been a resident of the Primghar Care Center. He passed away there on Tuesday, December 17, 1996, reaching the age of 85 years, one month and one day.

He attended the United Church of Primghar and was a past member of the Primghar School Board and had served as a Boy Scout Leader.

Sid leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ethel, of Primghar, one son, Stephen and his wife Lynn Cole of Primghar, and two daughters, Linda and her husband, Jerry Miller of Sutherland, and Susan and her husband, Dave Watterson of Hastings, Minnesota, also five grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elva Cole of Sutherland, also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, George.
