Dorothy L. Medland Daines was born March 13, 1919, in Hartley, Iowa. She passed away November 23, 1997 in her home at 330 Oak Grove, Minneapolis. She is now reunited with her beloved mother, Mildred Medland, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by "adopted families" with whom she shared a mutual devotion: Robert and Rosale Monogue and daughters Casey, Lisa, Robin and Terry of Mechanicsville, Virginia; Richard and Jeanne Patterson and daughters Christa and Courtney; Herb and Addie Whittemore; and lifelong friend, Jack Fitchette of Minneapolis.

Interment was in Pleasant view Cemetery of Hartley.
