LOWERY, WALKUP

Looking for any information on Thomas Lowery (m) Minerva Walkup; probably in 1870's in Monroe or Jefferson Co., Iowa. Thomas & Minerva Lowery are listed in the Iowa State census of 1905 as living in Troy Township, Monroe Co., Iowa. In the 1910 federal census, Minerva is shown as a widow living with her son, Arthur Lowery & family in Omaha, NE. Minerva Walkup was born in 1854 to David & Elizabeth (Brewer) Walkup in Jefferson Co., IA. In 1856 Minerva's mother passed away & Minerva along with her 6 siblings were placed in different homes. Minerva was initially placed in the Henry Harris home and then in the 1870 federal census she was listed with the Benson Pearson family in Jefferson Co., IA. In the 1880 federal census the Pearson family had moved to Monroe Co., IA but Minerva was no longer with them. Thus the theory that she would have married Thomas Lowery in the 1870's in either Jefferson or Monroe Co., IA. Any help in finding additional information on any of the above will be greatly appreciated.
