MAPLETON, Iowa -- Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Davis, 93, of Mapleton died Friday at the Maple Heights Nursing Home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton. The Rev. Richard Hempenius will officiate. Burial will be at the Cushing Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis, the former Mary Booth was born Feb. 4, 1891, in St. Joseph, Mo. She was raised in Missouri, at Harlan, and Mapleton. She married Frederick E. Davis on Jan. 11, 1910, in Dakota City, Neb. They lived near the Cushing and Correctionville areas before returning to Mapleton in 1946.

Mr. Davis died in 1956. She was a member of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald of Washta, Walter of Castana and Merle of Mapleton; one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Anna Mae) Kirchner of Cherokee; one sister, Mrs. Doris Cook of Mapleton; 12 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
