Mapleton, Iowa – Special: Funeral services for Frederick E. (Ned) Davis, 73, retired
Mapleton farmer, who died Tuesday in a hospital, will be at 1:30 p. m. Friday at the Evangelical and Reformed church here. Rev. E. G. Otte will officiate and burial will be in the Cushing cemetery. The Byers - Walter funeral home has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Davis was born June 16, 1883, at Meriden, Ia., and moved later with his parents to a farm near Battle Creek, Ia. He married Miss Mary Booth January 11, 1910, at Dakota City, Neb., and operated a livery business at Battle Creek and Danbury, Ia., for several years before moving to a farm near Battle Creek in 1924. He later farmed at Cushing, Correctionville and Danbury before retiring to Mapleton in 1946. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and a past member of the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include the widow, a daughter. Mrs. Harry Kirschner of Mapleton; three sons, Gerald of Onawa, Ia., and Merle and Walter, both of Mapleton; eight grandchildren, and a brother, Robert, of Mapleton.
