Mrs. Anna Julia Rose, a resident of Sloan, Iowa, since 1945, passed away on May 14, 1974, at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa. She had reached the age of 95 years, 5 months and 4 days.

Born on December 10, 1878 at Miltonsburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of Frederick and Minnie Steinhoff Weber. On April 12, 1923, she was united in marriage to William Rose at Mapleton, Iowa.

Mrs. Rose moved to Iowa in 1882 and had resided on the same farm near Sloan for 63 years.

Survivors include her husband, William of Sloan; one brother John Weber, also of Sloan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth, and 3 brothers, Henry, Edward and Charles.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, 1974, at the Wood Funeral Chapel in Sloan with Pastor LeRoy Struble officiating. Lois Pope sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Face to Face" accompanied by Bonnie Ray. Casket bearers were Merrill Weber, Darrel Weber, Alfred Weber, Cecil Weber, Carl Callaghan, and Roland Weber. Interment was in the German City Cemetery in Holly Springs with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home of Sloan
